If you like working with people and have an interest in your local history, please consider becoming a volunteer for the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum and Historical Society of Palm Beach County.  The Museum has volunteer opportunities as a Docent, Museum Store Assistant, or Greeter. The HSPBC has an ongoing need for assistants in the office, at special events, and sometimes in the archives. Because the Museum is in a Palm Beach County building, all volunteers are vetted and fingerprinted by the county.

Docents interact with visitors and lead tours after a 10-week training program held once a year. This position requires a commitment to a regular schedule.

College and university internships are available to qualified students. The HSPBC collaborates with Florida Atlantic University (Honors College and Boca Raton), Palm Beach Atlantic University, Florida State University, and others.
